The Rig Mechanic accomplishes this by performing preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, and ensuring all equipment functions optimally to support drilling operations. The Rig Mechanic reports directly to the assigned Chief Mechanics and assists them with all aspects of mechanical equipment on the rig, including maintenance, repairs, and installation.
