He works closely with supervision teams for the inspection of construction sites, including the inspection of construction works progress and the inspection and implementation of quality and HSSE policies, procedures and client requirements by contractors and subcontractors. The jobholder is expected to maintain strong familiarity of all construction drawings to ensure the adherence of contractors and subcontractors to approved drawings and specifications. Key Responsibilities (Financial) Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality and in a cost-effective manner Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus) Support Project Managers with managing client relations and expectations, as needed Support Project Managers with responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues, as needed Ensure client satisfaction with construction supervision services Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process) Support supervision teams with the review of the contractor’s work program during the pre-construction phase, as needed Support supervision teams with the review of contractors’ submittals, including staffing proposals, organization charts, shop drawings, method statements, project procedures, traffic management plans, etc., as needed Maintain familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, standard details and all other information related to the standard workmanship and quality of works Closely work with Planning Engineers for monitoring contractors’ daily activities on site (e.g. concrete pouring, installations, etc.) and resource allocation against plans Conduct inspection on construction works according to Requests for Inspections submitted by contractors and highlight reasons for rejection of works, if any Conduct quality inspections on contractors and subcontractors with the QA / QC Engineer and identify and raise quality issues, as needed Monitor the implementation of quality non-conformities action plans on construction sites Support HSSE Engineers on enforcing and monitoring the implementation of HSSE procedures on construction sites and recording and raising HSSE non-conformities, as needed Support the Materials Engineer to supervise the testing of materials and checking of materials samples against specifications and standards, as needed Support project teams with the review, assessment and response to all claims raised by the contractor regarding scope, schedule and cost changes of projects, as needed Support the supervision team during the hand-over and defects liability period, as needed Support Site Engineers with the preparation of commissioning reports and with conducting final inspection of works Assist Site Engineers with the preparation of list of snags to the contractor and monitoring the contractors’ rectification of list of snags during the Defects Liability Period Provide input for the preparation and issuance of Take-Over Certificates and Defect Liability Certificates Provide input to Planning Engineers for the development of project progress reports, as needed Implement corporate policies and procedures Key Responsibilities (Learning & Growth) Attend periodic training to further develop relevant skills Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred Knowledge of construction supervision services Understanding of international engineering standards and codes Good communication skills Good organization skills Strong attention to details Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role 5+ years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Planning Industry, particularly in a construction supervision / inspection role Specific Experience Required to Execute this Role 5+ years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Planning Industry in a top tier regional / multinational consultancy firm, with expertise in construction site inspections Experience with site inspections on large supervision sites, including inspection of works progress, quality inspections and HSSE inspections Skills Equal Opportunity Accessibility Recruitment Fraud Notice Building landmark projects across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond since 1959. 6,500+ professionals. 30+ offices.
