Job Summary: Responsible for performing welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks to repair, maintain, and construct metal structures, equipment, and piping systems onboard the rig. Roles & Responsibilities: Rig Operations: Performs various welding, cutting, brazing, and burning tasks as needed, including site preparation and material handling. Obtains necessary work permits prior to commencing electric welding or using grinding equipment and completes required paperwork accordingly. Ensure a fire watcher is in place, when necessary, in accordance with Client and Company procedure. Inspects welded joints for visible defects, correct dimensions, bead formation, weld penetration and conformance to work order and layout specification. Executes repairs, construction, or modifications to rig equipment and structures in compliance with applicable standards. Fabricates and installs new sections of pipe and steel in accordance with industry regulations. Assists with non-welding duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure safe and efficient operations.
